Creativity Isn’t Just About Art 

Let’s set the record straight: creativity isn’t just for artists. 

Creativity is the process of putting together patterns you’ve never put together before.

Be it by combining notes in music or words in writing, the essence remains the same: putting together new patterns. 

Now, let’s talk about coaching. 

Isn’t our work also about identifying patterns?

But instead of words or musical notes, we are piecing together experiences, thoughts, and emotions… “Why do I think what I think, feel what I feel, or act how I act?”

Just like creating a song or a painting, coaching involves connecting the dots in a unique way. 

And even if the inputs change, the actual process remains the same.  

Through a consistent creative process, we provide our minds with a repeatable practice ground for the very essence of what we do as coaches. 

The better we get at this process, the more effective our coaching becomes. 

Why Coaches Need to Harness Creativity

By improving our ability to see and form patterns, we can better identify and understand our clients’ challenges. 

This means more tailored strategies, better guidance, and ultimately, more impactful results. 

It also expands the range of people we are able to support, further increasing our client base.  

In short… 

The better we are at spotting patterns, the more value we offer. That’s what sets top-tier coaches apart. 

This has been the invaluable shift I’ve had in my perspective as a coach and why I founded an entire community around this concept and called it The CREATE Community.  

This key factor is also what has allowed me to be paid as much as $1 Million for a one-year coaching contract, and it’s what can elevate you to similar heights.  

Don’t Underestimate Creativity

Why don’t more coaches share this viewpoint? Because society hasn’t valued it. 

For most of us, we grew up in environments and societies where creativity is viewed as a hobby or something to do in our free time…  

It’s been labeled as an “unrealistic career path” or “something for the artists”. 

But if we shift our mindset and embrace creativity as a core tool for our growth as humans, we’re not just improving — we’re evolving.  

And if we expand our creativity as a tool for our coaching, we unlock exponential improvement in our results, and our business.

Ultimately, like anything else, I would encourage you to try out this modality and see how it fits:

It can look big and obvious, like my mastermind clients who are birthing podcasts, books, and art gallery exhibits. Or it can look small and private, through how you approach seemingly mundane tasks.  

• Try brushing your teeth with the opposite hand. 

• See if you can organize your closet in an entirely new way. 

• Invent a new variation of your favorite recipe. 

You’re creating new neural pathways.  You’re getting creative.

Feel good? Keep going. 

Seeing results? Double-down. 

The key is finding the spaces that encourage your creativity and provide you a safe space to test new ideas and move outside of your comfort zone.
