How To Build Website Traffic With Organic SEO
How To Build Website Traffic With Organic SEO
Believe it or not, my writing has been read by over 200 million people.
Over 80 million of those people have been from organic (a.k.a. non-paid) site readership.
I don’t share these numbers to brag, but to show you that I have some experience with organic traffic building.
And the good news is?
Anyone can benefit from the SEO methods I’m about to tell you.
That’s why I’m sharing the 3 best organic traffic-building tips that can make the biggest difference for your website:
1) It’s Harder To Rank Than Ever Before…
.. for competitive, super common keywords and phrases.
But it’s easier to rank for niche, highly unique, long-tail terms than ever before
So the key takeaway?
Don’t aim for common, top-of-funnel search terms, like ‘marketing,’ ‘copywriter,’ ‘jewelry,’ etc.
Instead, aim for niche, long-tail search terms highly relevant to exactly what you sell.
2) Write 10, 20 Or Even 30 Articles…
…that are deeply relevant to your product or service…
And release them on a semi-regular schedule.
I guarantee that, as long as you’re writing what’s deeply true for you, and in a helpful, insightful way for your readers, Google will inevitably start sending people to you.
Why?
Because Google is in the business of providing people with the best possible user experience for each search.
So if someone searches for ‘personalized sapphire romantic jewelry’ (or insert your business offering here), and they would be best served by your content, Google will find a way to show you to them.
And, if you write well and write a decent amount, it’s just a matter of time before you start seeing search engine traffic.
3) You Can’t Trick Google Anymore…
Buuuut, there are a few things you can do to give yourself the best shot at ranking for the terms that matter.
First, write content that is VERY YOU. Aim to use long-term, unique search terms, instead of super competitive, common industry phrases.
In other words, don’t write headlines optimized for ranking on Google…
Instead, create content using the exact words you want to describe your business and offering.
Write things that would be an absolute dream. Things you wished you could have stumbled upon years ago (assuming that the ‘old you’ is someone who would have benefited from your work today).
Crucial note to consider: It doesn’t matter if your site is hosted on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or whatever… That’s no longer a factor.
Google just wants to show people search results that serve them well. So, serve them well.
If you focus on writing deeply valuable content, and write long-tail search term oriented, you will start getting consistent, organic visitors from various search engines within a matter of months.
(I’m talking about Google, Yahoo, Duckduckgo, Ecosia, etc.)
And aside from writing articles yourself, try to get on other people’s podcasts, do guest posts on major sites with more traffic, and do a-ny-thing that generates relevant links to your site.
Because the more websites that point to your website (i.e. an ‘authority’ trigger), the better!
